Lots of people are always looking for great stock photos. Most of the time, they can come with some health price tags. I’ve scoured the web and found some of the best free stock photo sites out there. Most people don’t know how serious it is to be sure you have rights to the images you’re using. You must be sure the images aren’t copyrighted to avoid getting yourself into trouble. That’s what’s so great about these sites. Almost anything you can find is completely free to use – even in a commercial setting.
www.pixabay.com – This is one of our favorites! It’s searchable and most images (very rare) require any credit. Plus, they keep adding tons of great photos. This site offers various size downloads and doesn’t require an account for downloading images to your computer. While there are premium images available for purchase, the bulk of what you’ll see on this site is available for free.
picjumbo.com – This one is similar to pixabay. It’s searchable and doesn’t require attribution, just a slightly different interface.
stocksnap.io – This one is completely free from copyright restrictions and has a great interface, which makes it another on of our favorites. It’s easy to search and navigate to find that perfect photo.
pexels.com – This is one we’ve just started using, but already loving it. It’s searchable like the others and allows you to instantly download images in a variety of sizes. It runs on ads like some of the others, but it’s still pretty clean.
It used to be really expensive to get good quality images. These types of sites have really changed the game. Photographers from around the world are sharing their best photos on these networks. There’s really no excuse for not using great images whenever you have the chance.
If you can’t find what you’re looking for with anything above, try makerbook.net. Their focus is on helping startups and entrepreneurs with specific curated media. They pull from several sources, which can save a lot of time and give you a great selection to choose from.
